Ronghui(Olive)Su

As a talented young artist, Olive Su has exhibited work in the UK and China, her work have been collected by many organisations. She is also passionate about culture transmitting and art teaching activities, has been a visiting Art lecturer in Manchester Metropolitan University from 2008.

Olive started learning traditional Chinese painting from her father Zongsheng Su (who is a famous artist in China) since she was three years old. Learning painting, drawing and enjoying arts are the pleasant memories of her childhood. Starting from Chinese painting, Olive went through sketch drawings, water colours and pattern designs, and ultimately she found herself returning to Chinese painting. Chinese painting represents traditional Chinese culture, and freehand style drawing is the highly popular genre, because it allows the artists express their own experiences and feelings. She is particularly into flower and bird painting in freehand style.

Olive never begrudges her attention to beautiful things. One of her life-long pursuits is finding beauty, capturing beauty and recording beauty, therefore sharing the beauty with others. In her eyes, nothing is more beautifully harmonious than the shape and colour of flowers, and the tacit relationship between flower and bird in nature.
